Why HOZEN?

I first came across HOZEN through a friend's recommendation, and I was immediately drawn to its mission. It’s a small, eco-conscious, sustainable brand run by women, ensuring everyone involved gets paid fairly. Plus, they give back to animal welfare causes. How could I not support that? Thinking about it made me realize I couldn't justify using animal leather anymore. Alternative materials empower consumers like us to make ethical choices—not just for the planet, but for ourselves too. It’s all about having options and taking responsibility for our impact.

I lean toward casual, comfortable, classic styles—often with an androgynous twist. Think timeless pieces that feel effortlessly chic without being over-the-top.

Fun Fact.

My son and I share a birthday with HOZEN’s founder, Rae Nicoletti! It’s funny how these little coincidences bring people together.

 

What Inspires You?

Nature has always been my biggest inspiration—it grounds me and keeps me connected. A great 90s hip-hop playlist never fails to get me pumped, and music in general brings so much joy. My son is another huge source of inspiration; his curiosity and kindness remind me to stay open-minded. Kindness between strangers also amazes me—there’s something beautiful about humanity coming together. Feminism and women’s liberation resonate deeply with me because equality benefits everyone. And let’s not forget dogs—they’re loyal beyond measure!

Favorite Place in the World?

Home sweet home! Specifically, lying in my bed with fresh air blowing through the window, crisp sheets beneath me, and my entire family around. There’s no place quite like it.

Guilty Pleasure?

A spoonful of Mānuka honey stirred into my Ripple milk latte every morning. Call it self-care or call it indulgence—I’ll take both!
